Some people battling certain mental illnesses have been told: "Don't be scared - It's not real". That's the case with Screamfield; our annual, volunteer-run, stigma-smashing Halloween haunt held in Springfield, Ontario! But interesting what people will put themselves through when they know it's all in fun!
Screamfield starts inside Malahide Community Place and then ventures outdoors along the ground's path and woods. So hold on to your organs and join us as we #GETBRAVE about mental illness all while celebrating mental health!
"Spooky Larry" is always looking for new spooks from all walks of the "undead" to join in and help create this exciting event! Pre-production starts in August and Screamfield runs the last week in October. Contact us if you are interested in becoming a part of this growing attraction!
In addition, on the final night of Screamfield, Out There & Music Central present a Family Costume Dance Party (7-9pm) and then a licensed Adult Costume Dance Party (9pm-1am)!
A portion of the proceeds raised from Screamfield & the dances go to local mental health organizations including The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) & The Psychosis Survivors Network of St Thomas.
WARNING: Spooky Larry's mom should have named him "Scary Larry." It would have had a better ring to it. And "Scary" could also be used to describe this event. But #GETBRAVE and admit yourself to Screamfield!
- Different every year!
